How to Monitor MRF Hub-and-Spoke Material Transfers
A hub-and-spoke MRF network becomes measurable when every transfer has a material, origin, destination, vehicle, dispatch weight, receipt weight and accountable timestamps.

Implementation checklist
Build a facility relationship map
Give every MRF a stable number, coordinates, capacity, operator and assigned hub. Record road distance or approved route distance so network planning and trip review use the same reference.
Use one traceable transfer record
The same transfer ID should connect material type, dispatch weight, vehicle, driver, departure, GPS trip, arrival, hub receipt weight and evidence. This avoids disconnected entries at the spoke and hub.
Reconcile quantity at receipt
Compare dispatch and receipt quantities within an approved tolerance. Keep moisture, handling, rejected load and weighbridge notes so officers can review legitimate variance separately from missing or delayed material.
Review the whole network
Daily dashboards should show material sent by each MRF, pending arrival, average transfer time, distance, receipt variance and destination-wise processing or recovery.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum data for an MRF transfer?
Transfer number, date and time, source MRF, destination hub, material, vehicle, dispatch quantity, receipt quantity and responsible users.
Can the system work without live GPS?
Yes. GPS improves movement visibility, but dispatch, arrival, distance, weights and evidence can still form a controlled transfer record.
